Our client, a global leader in energy solutions, is seeking a Sales Director to manage a high-performing sales team in the United States. This role involves leading a team of 20 professionals, driving over $100 million USD in annual sales, and developing strategies to expand the company’s presence in the power distribution market.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:
· Driving sales performance to meet and exceed targets in the electrical components and high-voltage equipment sectors.
· Developing and maintaining relationships with key accounts, including power companies, Independent Power Producers, alternative energy developers, and major project developers.
· Identifying and pursuing market opportunities to expand the customer base and secure new business.
· Preparing and submitting detailed sales forecasts and performance reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
· Collaborating with the General Manager to craft and implement strategic sales plans aligned with company objectives.
· Effectively managing cross-cultural communication and coordination with international teams, particularly those in China.
· Partnering with marketing and product teams to execute marketing initiatives, events, and exhibitions.
· Leading and managed a team of 20 sales professionals across multiple market segments, including transmission and distribution, OEM low-voltage components, and distribution channels.
· Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform business strategies and decisions.
Required and desired qualifications for this role:
· A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
· At least 5 years of experience managing sales teams of 10+ members.
· Proven experience in transmission, distribution, and low-voltage power systems.
· Strong network within the energy and power sectors is a plus.
· Track record of managing sales exceeding $100 million USD annually.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
· Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
