We’re looking for an enthusiastic and growth-minded individual to join our team as a Sales Engineer.
Our Sales team takes a highly consultative approach to selling our multiple product offerings. We’re seeking an experienced and creative sales professional who understands the art of listening and solving customers’ problems. The ideal candidate should have a hunter mentality, focusing on lead generation and consistent closing ratio improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of the products they sell, including their specifications, parts, functions, and how they work
- Ability to explain complex products in a clear and compelling way
Customer Support
- Provide customers with product sales support, including troubleshooting help and recommendations for improved products or services
- Act as a trusted advisor to VG clients, aligning product offerings with their specific business requirements
Sales Process
- Cultivate customer intent from the initial point of engagement
- Assess the needs of potential customers to understand their specific requirements and pain points.
- Deliver comprehensive and engaging software demonstrations tailored to address customer needs.
- Guide customers through the entire sales lifecycle, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from initial contact to closing the sale.
Presentations
- Prepare and deliver presentations explaining technical products to existing and prospective customers to push a variety of VG offerings
Product Demonstrations
- Conduct product demonstrations to emphasize the product’s benefits and competitive advantages
Negotiations
- Provide technical expertise during product demonstrations and discovery calls with clients to reach a mutual agreement
- Ability to creatively negotiate and manage objections with prospective clients
- Confidently address any technical questions to alleviate concerns, or reinforce the product’s ROI
Continuous Learning
- Constantly improve on sales skill sets and strategies, upkeep of industry trends and emerging products, and understanding the ever-changing competitive landscape of the market that we operate in
How do you know if this role is for you?
- 3+ years of B2B and enterprise sales experience with a proven track record
- Proficiency communicating in English (both verbally and written); Ability to do that in French will be considered a plus
- Comfortable with follow-ups, admin, and calendar organization with a strong attention to detail
- Adaptable to change while being a driving force of growth
- Outgoing people person, comfortable with phone, in-person, and video conference
- Clear, concise, and persuasive communication style
- Great problem-solving skills with the ability to identify technical problems or gaps in a customer’s current setup and propose tailored solutions that leverage the company’s products
- You understand the importance of knowing how a product or service works inside and out
- You have a proven track record of building meaningful relationships with clients
- Excellent negotiation skills
- You pride yourself on your active listening skills
- Entrepreneurial drive—you thrive being part of a small team, rapidly iterating on your approach to unlocking opportunities, learning and staying ahead of industry trends, and getting your hands dirty to sell
- Competitive nature and a will to succeed in a target-driven environment
- Experience selling services, outsourcing, or labour solutions is a plus
- Must be quota-driven!
