Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager for a remote position based in Johannesburg. This exciting role focuses on developing and managing a client database for a prestigious private game reserve in the Waterberg Region, Limpopo. The Sales Manager will also have the opportunity to cross-sell other properties within a renowned hospitality portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including tour operators, travel agents, and DMCs.
- Conduct client visits to promote the private game reserve.
- Perform thorough research to understand each client’s business, key stakeholders, decision-makers, and procurement processes.
- Develop and execute a sales plan aligned with the group’s sales and marketing objectives to increase revenue.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from cold calling to closing deals.
- Monitor tender databases and complete RFPs for corporate companies and conferences.
- Negotiate contracts effectively.
- Cross-sell properties within the portfolio to boost overall group revenue and expand market share.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service offerings.
Account Management:
- Understand and anticipate each client’s needs to retain and grow business.
- Ensure timely renewal of contracts with existing clients.
- Organize site inspections, presentations, training sessions, and FAM trips as needed.
- Oversee contract implementation and administration.
- Participate in relevant trade shows.
- Collaborate closely with all stakeholders for an integrated approach.
Administration:
- Utilize CRM tools or filing systems to manage information, expand the database, and improve client understanding.
- Maintain and update all database/contact lists for operations and marketing.
- Prepare reports on competitors, market trends, and sales activities, and monitor results monthly.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License and Vehicle.
- A recognized sales qualification or 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Strategic, analytical, and data-driven approach.
- Experience working with tour operators, DMCs, and event planners.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs is essential; knowledge of Opera is advantageous.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Efficient time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to interact and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve service and departmental goals.
- Solid understanding of budgeting and working within set budgets.
