Job Summary:
The Sales Manager at Indie Stays Hotel, Mumbai will be responsible for driving room and event sales, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring revenue growth for the property. This role will involve developing and implementing sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and maximizing the hotel’s market presence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in hospitality sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to meet and exceed targets in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for rooms, banquets, and other hotel services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both corporate and leisure segments.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to refine the hotel’s sales strategy.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, travel agents, event organizers, and other relevant partners.
- Conduct regular sales calls, client meetings, and property tours to generate leads and close deals.
- Manage key accounts, ensuring repeat business and high client satisfaction.
- Revenue Management:
- Work closely with the Revenue Management team to optimize room rates and maximize revenue.
- Monitor occupancy rates and coordinate with the front office and reservations team to ensure inventory is optimized for sales.
- Participate in pricing strategy discussions and contribute insights for forecasting and budgeting.
- Event Sales & Coordination:
- Actively promote the hotel’s event spaces, generating leads for conferences, meetings, weddings, and other events.
- Work with clients to understand their needs and coordinate with the operations team to ensure smooth event execution.
- Create customized packages for clients and ensure a high level of customer service throughout the sales process.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and present sales reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue growth, conversion rates, and sales activity.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of clients and prospects, and regularly update the CRM system.
- Provide regular feedback to the management team on market trends, client needs, and areas for improvement.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to align promotional activities with sales objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and finance, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Train and mentor junior sales team members, sharing knowledge of sales techniques and market insights.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, with a preference for candidates with experience in the hospitality or travel industry.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Familiarity with hotel management software and CRM tools.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Hours: This is a full-time position with flexibility required to meet clients and business needs.
- Travel: Travel may be required to meet clients or attend industry events
