Key Responsibilities

Development and Design

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Scala applications using functional programming principles.
• Build and enhance backend systems, APIs, and microservices to support financial applications.
• Implement robust data pipelines for processing large-scale financial data.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.

Collaboration and Problem-Solving

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Participate in architecture definition and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system reliability.

Optimization and Quality Assurance

• Optimize application performance for scalability and low latency.
• Ensure high code quality through testing frameworks, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Refactor legacy codebases to improve maintainability and performance.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated on the latest Scala libraries, frameworks (e.g., Akka, Play), and industry trends.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and team productivity.
• Mentor junior developers by sharing knowledge of functional programming principles and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• Strong proficiency in Scala programming with experience in frameworks such as Akka, Play Framework, or Spark.
• Solid understanding of functional programming concepts (e.g., pure functions, immutability).
• Experience with building distributed systems or event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Kafka or Apache Spark is a plus.
• Knowledge of concurrency, multithreading, and asynchronous programming.

Fintech Domain Knowledge

• Understanding of financial systems or prior experience in the fintech industry is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with handling sensitive financial data securely.

Additional Skills

• Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications
