Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly motivated, and outward-spoken Senior Account Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all supplier and vendor relationships and oversee a team of Portfolio Managers who, in turn, manage our buyers. Your focus will be to ensure seamless operations, build strong partnerships, and drive business growth through effective account management and strategic collaboration.

Job Description

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage teams of Portfolio Managers and Buyers to achieve purchasing objectives and drive performance.
  • Develop and refine procurement strategies to align with the company’s goals for growth and sustainability.
  • Implement best practices in procurement and vendor management to optimize cost-efficiency and quality.

Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong external relationships by resolving issues, providing updates, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to optimize account performance and drive overall business growth.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, assess competitive landscapes, and support data-driven decision-making.

Performance & Metrics:

  • Develop and monitor key procurement metrics to ensure targets are met and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead the purchasing and replenishment process, driving efficiency and ensuring inventory aligns with sales demand.
  • Prepare and present procurement performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting outcomes and insights.
  • Ensure the procurement team adheres to budgetary constraints and works towards financial goals.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure smooth integration of procurement with marketing, sales, operations, and finance.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization to ensure transparency and alignment on procurement strategies.
  • Travel may be required to engage with clients and account partners, fostering relationships, discussing business opportunities, and conducting performance reviews.

Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience managing accounts on platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, and other marketplaces.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to act as the face of the company in crucial external interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions regarding pricing and sales strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale procurement budgets and projects.
