Purpose of the role:

Cloud Direct are seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant with expertise in deployment and migration projects, Azure DevOps, Storage, Networking and/or application development and lifecycle management; this is a great opportunity for an individual looking for an exciting, challenging opportunity to deliver varied and leading-edge Public Cloud solutions within our Azure Practice.

The role of the Senior Cloud Consultant is very much a technical ‘hands-on’ role and focuses on low-level design, deployment and documentation of Public Cloud solutions, documentation reviews, and support and guidance for junior team members. We’re looking for an ambitious consultant, with proven project delivery experience looking to bring their expertise and knowledge to our Public Cloud operations.

It will involve taking customers on the journey from initial assessment and advice, through to planning, architecture, design, migration, and transformation with defined outcomes. As well as delivering technical solutions, you will be working closely with other members of the Azure Team as well as our Cloud Solution Architects and experienced Project Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and your Practice Area colleagues to deliver enterprise-level Azure Public Cloud implementation and migration.
• Delivery and optimization of customer workloads into Microsoft Azure, providing deployment guidance, supporting the development of the customers’ cloud adoption model, and providing appropriate recommendations to overcome blockers.
• Delivery of project components to high standards and best practices.
• Creating and reviewing high and low-level design documents whilst retaining a highly flexible approach to change.
• Working with Solution Architects and Project Managers to improve and refine approach, tooling and delivery of repeatable solutions.
• Enforcing and evolving best practices and internal processes for documentation and delivery
• Knowledge transfer of all aspects of technical solutions to both internal teams and clients.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Minimum 6+ years of professional experience within the IT consulting, technology and solutions arena.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with Azure services including Azure Active Directory, Azure networking, virtual machines, backup, DR, monitoring, security, DevOps, Kubernetes, Terraform and automation
• Experience of Azure Virtual Desktop deployment is highly advantageous
• A passion for Azure technologies and the desire to keep learning
• Experienced in Azure implementation and migration projects
• Proven track record in delivering successful Azure projects on time and to budget
• Ability to prioritise work and manage own time independently
• Ability to technically own projects through to completion
• High standards of technical documentation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build relationships
• Azure Administrator qualifications
• Understanding of Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Azure Web Apps, Azure SQL and application development/transformation
• Experience relevant to Public Cloud migrations, especially technologies such as Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, IIS, SQL, Windows and Linux Operating Systems
• Completion of Microsoft Azure exams AZ-300 / 303, AZ-301/ 304 or AZ-500.
