Senior Backend Engineer Java (Remote)

Compensation: 130k-150k/yr + equity

Backed by $7 million in funding from top-tier investors, we’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help drive the development and scalability of our platform. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of applications by optimizing backend processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in backend development.
• Implement and develop microservices architecture to improve system modularity.
• Utilize cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for scalable application deployment and management.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain code quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on Java.
• Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with database management systems and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong understanding of scalability and performance optimization techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding junior developers.
