Senior Backend Engineer – Node.js – Around 10 Years’ Experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a deep understanding of Node.js and a proven track record of delivering scalable, high-performance backend systems. With approximate 10 years of industry experience, the ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our server-side applications, ensuring they are robust and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

· Backend Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex backend systems using Node.js, ensuring they meet high standards of performance and scalability.

· API Design and Integration: Architect, develop, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs, facilitating seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party services.

· Database Management: Design and manage efficient, secure, and scalable database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity across both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.

· Security Implementation: Implement and enforce robust security protocols, including authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.), and ensure compliance with best practices for data protection.

· Performance Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize server-side code, and ensure the backend can scale effectively to handle increasing load.

· Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) using frameworks such as Mocha, Jest, or Cypress. Conduct thorough code reviews and debug complex issues.

· DevOps and Deployment: Oversee continuous integration and deployment pipelines (CI/CD), utilize containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) tools, and manage deployments on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

· Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

· Collaboration and Agile Practices: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality features. Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and drive continuous process improvement.

· Documentation and Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, advocate for coding best practices, and stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.

Qualifications

· Experience: 10+ years of backend development experience, with a significant portion dedicated to Node.js.

· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

· Technical Skills:

o Mastery of JavaScript and Node.js.

o Extensive experience with frameworks such as Express.js, Koa.js, or NestJS.

o In-depth knowledge of SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.

o Proficiency in API development and integration (RESTful and GraphQL).

o Strong understanding of security best practices and authentication mechanisms.

o Expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

o Extensive experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.

o Familiarity with microservices architecture and serverless computing.

Pay: AED10,000.00 – AED20,000.00 per month
