GEM’s commercial revenues are currently generated through inbound opportunities, referrals, and tenders. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at GEM in the capacity of Senior Business Development Manager. This role will be responsible for developing and executing an outbound business development strategy to win new business.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Developing growth strategies and plans

• Achieve assigned sales targets

• Review of existing client database with a view to generate additional opportunities

• Managing and retaining relationships with new and existing clients

• Increasing client base through networking and industry events

• Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition

• Writing business proposals

• Executing deals

This role will be supported by experienced management, engineering, project management, and estimating teams. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Development with mentorship opportunities by the CEO, the right person will be responsible for generating new business and servicing existing clients to add additional value and present new and additional business cases.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• High-level communication skills

• Stakeholder management skills

• Proven ability to negotiate

• High-level computer skills, MS Suite

• Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy

• The ability to self-motivate and hungry to generate new business

• Identifying new opportunities within the market

• Engaging, and influencing key decision makers to ensure GEM Energy are invited to participate in offers.

• Providing quotations and needs-based solutions

• Managing your sales pipeline within a CRM

Skills Required for the Role:

• Strong commercial acumen

• Understanding of solar/electrical/construction industry is highly desirable, but not essential

• Understanding of tender submission processes and contract/time management

• Ability to navigate government and non-government tender processes

• Effective problem-solving skills to work through a number of steps, stages, and or barriers to achieve the overall goal

• Proven time management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
