Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead our efforts in securing AI and data-related projects within the banking and financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AI, machine learning, big data, and analytics, combined with deep knowledge of banking operations, compliance, and digital transformation trends. This role requires a strategic thinker who can build relationships, identify new opportunities, and drive revenue growth in this rapidly evolving space.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Strategy:
- Identify, develop, and execute strategies to win AI and data-related projects in the banking sector, focusing on areas such as fraud detection, risk management, customer personalization, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and pitches to communicate value propositions effectively to banking clients.
Market Intelligence & Opportunity Identification:
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitor activities in AI and data solutions for banking and finance industries.
- Build a robust pipeline of AI and data projects by targeting new and existing banking clients.
Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Innovation, and Data Officers in the banking and finance industries.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering innovative AI and data solutions to address client challenges and drive their digital transformation initiatives.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Work closely with internal technical teams, data scientists, and AI experts to align offerings with client needs and industry requirements.
- Coordinate with marketing and product teams to develop industry-specific solutions and go-to-market strategies.
Contract Negotiation & Closing:
- Lead negotiations for project contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements and successful project initiation.
- Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets by driving revenue through strategic deal closures.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in business development or sales with a focus on AI, data solutions, or IT services in the banking and finance industries (BFSI).
- Proven track record of successfully winning and delivering large-scale AI or data projects in financial services.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of AI, machine learning, big data, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with banking industry regulations, digital transformation, and data security best practices.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with emerging technologies such as generative AI, blockchain, or advanced analytics in financial services.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks like GDPR, Basel III, or AML/KYC compliance.
