Job Purpose:

The Senior Developer will focus on DevOps and lead the design, development, and implementation Cloud Based Public Safety Software SaaS Solutions. Perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the Software Engineering process.


THIS IS A 100% REMOTE POSITION.

Responsibilities


Essential Duties:

  • Design, develop, enhance, and implement Public Safety software
  • Develop solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance independently and with team.
  • Participate in code reviews (quality/standards), document design/implementation. Perform unit, functional, and performance software testing
  • Troubleshoot production problems to Public Safety software
  • Analyze complex technical problems, propose efficient solutions, and deliver them within deadlines.
  • Mentor junior DevOPs Engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
  • Provides technical support to client support teams
  • Responsible for analysis of business requirements and for accurate estimates of level of effort for analysis, design, and coding.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliverables and come up with technical solutions.
  • Analytical support of user reported problems to determine appropriate resolution options.
  • Interface with a wide audience – QA, Production Support, Architects, Other Development Teams, and PM

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Understanding of Linux systems
  • Proficient in software design, development, and unit testing
  • Basic understanding of Relational databases such as MSSQL and MySQL
  • Experience with Node.JS, Typescript, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Dojo2, and Python
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem solving, debugging, and application and code maintenance skills
  • Agile/Lean development methodology
  • Extensive software development experience and strong understanding of design principles & best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication & leadership skills
  • Expertise in SDLC, independent & teamwork, passion for innovation
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages
  • Writes clean, documented code. Unit testing & TDD experience. Able to debug code
  • Strong understanding of relational databases
  • Expert in Version control (Git) & best practices

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of professional experience to include:
  • Extensive experience with a broad range of AWS services and in-depth knowledge of the best practices for designing and deploying cloud solutions.
  • Proven experience with infrastructure automation using IaC tools and experience with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
  • Developing infrastructure as code
  • Linux administration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of professional experience in DevOps
  • Strong understanding of cost optimization techniques in the AWS cloud.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like ECS or EKS a plus.
  • Expertise in Git version control system and exceptional grasp of branching strategies, merge conflicts, and code review best practices.
  • Understanding of security best practices and experience with security automation tools in the AWS cloud a plus.
  • Good understanding of technologies and protocols typically used in voice and video communication.
