Senior Devops Engineer (Remote)

Our client is a leading managed WordPress hosting platform, providing businesses with the speed, security, and reliability they need to thrive online. Their platform simplifies and automates many of the complex tasks associated with managing a WordPress website, allowing businesses to focus on creating great content and growing their audience.

IF YOU ARE

• A professional with 3+ years of cloud experience (AWS or GCP)
• Proficient in Terraform
• Confidently working with APIs
• A practitioner of WPOD failover process
• Experienced in managing Kubernetes
• Aware of GKE, AKS, or EKS environment
• Skilled in Python and Golang

AND YOU WANT TO

• Implement a new storage class for regional persistent disks that supports desired failover functionality and is compatible with the GKE environment
• Update the provisioning API to handle the creation, management, and deletion of regional persistent disks, including force-attaching disks to VM instances during failover
• Design and implement test scenarios to validate that the WPOD can fail in Zone 1 and be rescheduled in Zone 2 with minimal downtime, data loss, or performance degradation
• Ensure database and disk consistency during the WPOD failover process, avoiding data corruption or inconsistencies while transitioning the WPOD between zones
• Perform tests comparing regional PDs against zonal disks, measuring storage performance under various workloads and conditions
• Document and establish best practices for implementing and managing WPOD failover with regional persistent disks on GKE, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting guidance to achieve optimal performance and reliability
