This role is remote eligible, which means you would work virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location.
What you’ll do
- Lead an enterprise-wide strategy for experience design
- Provide experience design thought leadership and influence across the company
- Work with business, product and technology leaders across the organization to understand market needs and vision
- Present the work of the team to all levels of the organization in a way that clearly demonstrates the proposed customer experiences
- Identify needed skills and capabilities and work to fill as needed, including recruiting, hiring and training
- Understand funding mechanisms and multiple budgets to manage and build teams to meet needs
- Define practices used by the team, including discovery process, human-centered design, conventions, patterns and feedback opportunities
Basic qualifications
- 10 years of experience as a practitioner with a background in experience design (e.g. UX Designer, Content Designer, Service Designer, Product Designer, Researcher or Strategist.)
- 10 years of experience leading UX teams, or Design/IA/Copywriter teams
- 7 years of experience in e-commerce development and optimization
- Case studies of previous work experience that demonstrate advanced skill in experience design and leadership
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (4 yr) in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Information Architecture, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Human Computer Interaction, Instructional or Graphic Design, related field or Equivalent Industry Experience.
- Previous experience leading design teams in the ecommerce space across apps and web
- Working knowledge of experience design tools, design thinking facilitation techniques and methods to teach others these ways of working
- Previous experience working with technical product teams or retail operations
- Extensive experience generating and applying customer insights, including quantitative and qualitative research and other customer signals from search, digital and social data
