The Senior Underwriter will help produce profitable business with our new products, while developing long-term relationships with our production resources. The Sr Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting a profitable growing book of business, while driving sales through our captive agency distribution network.

Principal Responsibilities:

Help finalize the rules and guidelines for our products and support the launch of products.
Act as the day-to-day liaison to our captive agents.
Manage results by agency location and review concentrations and PML accumulations within the book of business.
Visit BRP sites and work with key captive agencies to better understand how flood products are marketed and sold to improve our help improve and evolve our MGA flood products over time.
Ensure that issued flood policies comply with our carrier and reinsurance agreements.
Determine appropriate process to handle quotes that require additional underwriting approval that did not pass straight through processing.
Review and determine the strategy for marketing flood to existing Homeowners renewals.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Business, Economics, Marketing or Engineering field, or equivalent years’ experience.
Flood experience within an insurance carrier, MGA / program administrator, or agency. 2+ years of handling accounts within the Florida insurance industry in a product, underwriting, or account management role
Florida 2-20 or 4-40 license, desired but not required.
Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency to resolve problems and meet broker, client and market expectations of service.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and ability to master proprietary software.
Ability to work autonomously when not directly supervised day to day.
Ability to travel up to 10% to visit BKS sites once a quarter.
