The Opportunity:
Your role at Sephora… As our Senior Software Engineer on the Android team, you will be collaborating with colleagues and the architecture team to build solutions that focus on performance, usability, scalability, and best practices for native application development. You will participate in technical design planning and implementation for new features for the Android app.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design, build and maintain scalable solutions to business requirements using Kotlin. Work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers and frontend web engineers on the feature delivery team to ensure timely delivery of features.
- Participate in agile ceremonies to plan work for sprints.
- Conduct peer code review and contribute to coding standards. Write unit tests and promote a variety of good engineering best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, providing timely support and fixes. Use Firebase and other monitoring tools to analyze crash and error logs. Identify and resolve performance issues.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance. Lead by example and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

We would love to hear from you if…
- 7+ years of experience in developing Android apps with a history of launching successful projects
- Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, object-oriented-programming (OOP), frameworks and technologies
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party libraries and API’s
- Solid understanding of mobile application design patterns and software architecture principles
- Kotlin and Java programming skills
- Understanding of the Android SDK and Performance monitoring tools
- Experience developing and delivering using Agile methodologies
- Partner with product, design, QA and fellow engineers to determine the best way to meet business requirements
- Review code for others on the team and provide thoughtful feedback
- Proactively monitor and improve the technical performance of the app
- Participate in technical discussions with fellow engineers

The annual base salary range for this position is $142,020.00 – $175,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
