Job Overview
In this pivotal role, you will engage in a fast-paced environment that demands problem-solving skills at the core of Linux server systems, presenting a unique opportunity to intersect open-source ecosystems with enterprise technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a distributed team of engineers to achieve project goals.
- Utilize hands-on leadership to exemplify sound engineering practices.
- Plan, estimate, and execute projects with precision and efficiency.
- Collaborate with product management to shape the vision and strategy of our platform.
- Advocate for the latest software development methodologies.
- Enhance engineering excellence and organizational practices.
- Cultivate a collaborative engineering culture that embodies our core values.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership to ensure alignment of product architecture and roadmaps.
- Participate in biannual in-person sprints in unique global locations while working remotely.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with Linux distributions and packaging technologies (e.g., deb, rpm).
- Proven history of managing or leading software engineering teams.
- Expertise in Linux system architecture, boot processes, and programming toolchains (Java, GCC, Python, Rust, or Go).
- Familiarity with ARM and/or RISC-V architectures.
- Strong background in engaging with open-source communities and contributing to their processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering with leadership responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
