Senior Frontend Ux Engineer (Remote)

We are repath, a young and innovative remote ClimateTech Start-Up, building the world’s first climate adaptation management platform by translating insights from climate science and know-how from climate adaptation, specifically for critical infrastructure, into climate risk and adaptation recommendations.

We are seeking a Senior Frontend+UX Engineer who excels in fast prototyping and delivering delightful user experiences. You will play a crucial role in shaping the visual and interactive aspects of our platform, working closely with customers, stakeholders and the product team to bring their needs to life. If you are a visionary with a strong background in ReactJS, modern web technologies, and design systems, we would love to hear from you.

What responsibilities does the role have?

• Take on the ownership of our Frontend App and collaborate with product managers, designers, and customers to rapidly prototype and iterate on new features and component.
• Develop and maintain a scalable, high-performance frontend architecture using ReactJS and related technologies.
• Staying pragmatic and building what we need now and next, while anticipating future scaling steps.
• Create and implement a cohesive design system using Storybook to ensure consistency and quality across the platform.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and improve the user experience.
• Hands on development with Typescript to create and expand our app in the ClimateTech space
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development and UX/UI design, applying them to enhance our platform, thus driving innovation on our roadmap and ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
• Lead and manage other technology professionals that can learn from you, fostering a high performance new work culture
• Work with the current infrastructure and expand on it to foster a scalable tech stack
• Ensuring good code documentation and good unit/integration tests

What are we looking for?

• You have a builder mentality with a proven track record, ideally working in a SaaS, Startup or other fast-paced environment
• 3-5 years experience with relevant hands on Frontend development and lover of continuous integration & delivery
• You have experience working with larger datasets and geographical data for maps in the Frontend
• Experience and straight-forward applicable know-how of user research and usability testing methods to gather feedback and improve the user experience.
• You are eager to solve problems, communicate clearly and are able to take on responsibilities
• You are knowledgeable about technologies we use in our Tech Stack
• Experience writing queries/mutations using GraphQL to optimally work with our backend
• You are self-motivated with a co-owner and growth mindset and a structured, a fast learner
• You are a mature, reflective individual that is thriving for professional and personal growth
• A portfolio showcasing your work in frontend development and UX design is highly desirable
