Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Software Developer is responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of software applications. These responsibilities include assisting with requirements gathering, coding, testing, and installing applications. This position will work with project management to ensure that project deadlines are met and that the work meets user requirements.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design stable, reliable, and effective databases.
Optimize and maintain legacy systems along with considerations for future enhancements.
Modify databases according to requests and perform tests.
Solve database usage issues and malfunctions.
Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.
Gather user requirements and identify new features.
Develop technical and training manuals.
Provide data management support to users.
Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements.
Research and suggest new database products, services, and protocols.
Responsible for high quality, bug-free development as per the coding standards in close collaboration and interaction with other members of the development/QA team.
Participate in daily project scrum meetings and provide daily personal status report.
Create user documentation for completed solutions.
Work with support team to resolve production support issues.
Mentor the junior developers and help building knowledge base
Participate in peer reviews.
Assist with technical documentation.
Consult with QA staff on strategies for testing specific work items.
Other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Contribute to the success of the organization by helping others accomplish job results; learning new skills needed by the team; finding new ways to help the team.

Job Requirement

WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in Computer Science, IT
8-10+ years of software development and testing experience as a Database developer with SQL database design, SQL (MSSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases
Experience with SQL (MSSQL & PostgreSQL), ORM, NoSQL (MongoDB)
Experience in NodeJS, Nest related technologies
Experience working with RESTAPI, API security.
Experience working with Angular, ReactJS other UI frameworks
Experience in Azure/Cloud development is a plus.
Experience in Product Development
Excellent communication skills
Capable of system tuning, code optimization and bug solving
Familiar with source control principles and systems
Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
An understanding of SDLC and working experience in an Agile team is preferred.
Good understanding of tools Jira, Confluence etc.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLSET(S):

In-depth understanding of data management (e.g., permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring).
Develops, tests, and maintains data pipelines and architectures.
An ability to understand front-end users’ requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
