Reporting to the Development Team Leader, the successful candidate will join our highly skilled Aviation Development Team working on our cutting-edge flight data management software; skybook. We are looking for someone who is highly experienced as a Fullstack Software Developer with a minimum of five years commercial experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
You’ll be working within the aviation software development team and be involved in the development of our award winning, flagship software skybook.
- Working on our web applications using PHP, Javascript, Typescript, NodeJs, HTML5, React, CSS3, Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Using Jira for development cycle using agile methodologies
- Being part of our development road map team, developing new modules for our software
- Improving the performance across our web applications
- Being part of the Tier 2 Out of Hours on call rotation
Skills, knowledge and experience
- BSc in Computer Science preferred (or equivalent qualifications and experience as a Software Developer will be considered)
- A genuine passion for Software Engineering is essential, as is commitment and drive to be successful
- Demonstrable coding skills and an understanding of the necessities of cross-browser production
- Experience with JavaScript and JavaScript libraries to create rich interactive content would be beneficial
- Experience of PHP backend development would be beneficial
- AWS experience would be beneficial
- Experience/knowledge of working with web technologies such as HTML5 and deploying solutions across responsive, cross platform devices/browsers
- Ability to provide accurate estimates with regards to work and work to a schedule
- Must be organised, able to work to deadlines and complete any learning and development as required
- Maintain a good level of awareness of the industry and trends, particularly regarding development
- Keep abreast of usability standards and emerging technologies
- Must be a team player and have excellent communication skills
- Must have meticulous attention to detail
Location
Headquartered in Kirmington, North Lincolnshire we also have offices in Hull, East Yorkshire and support a remote working schedule. The successful candidate will be required to attend the offices to take part in meetings and training and as such, the post holder would need to be within a manageable commutable distance.
Staff Benefits
- Starting base salary £45,000 to £55,000 (Depending on qualifications and industry experience)
- 25 days annual leave, increasing with service, plus public bank holidays
