Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer to join our team supporting USAID. The ideal candidate will play a key role in migrating our existing AWS-based website to a new ATO (Authorization to Operate) compliant platform, building and optimizing a robust web infrastructure, and providing ongoing web development and IT support. They will ensure that information, resources, and data are accessible to support USAID’s mission to create sustainable, resilient communities. Work Schedule and Location:

Remote
: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Website Migration: Lead the migration of the current website to a new ATO-compliant platform, ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and a seamless user experience. Develop migration strategies and processes to effectively transfer content, data, and site functionality while meeting ATO compliance standards.
  • Web Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain a scalable and secure web infrastructure that meets ATO requirements. Optimize site performance, ensuring a seamless experience across devices. Implement best practices for website security, performance, and scalability.
  • Web Development & Maintenance: Develop and maintain website functionality using modern coding standards. Ensure the site remains responsive, secure, and up to date with the latest technologies, maintaining ATO compliance throughout.
  • Ongoing Web/IT Support: Provide technical support for website-related issues, perform troubleshooting, and ensure timely resolution. Monitor website performance and uptime, manage server maintenance and updates, and ensure continued ATO compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, content, and marketing to ensure that the website aligns with overall project goals and user experience standards. Provide recommendations for enhancements and new features based on user feedback, analytics, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • 5+ years of experience in web development, with a focus on website migration, infrastructure management, and compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT systems, or other applicable degrees
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal)
  • Experience in website analytics and optimization tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Looker Studio)
  • Understanding of API integration and RESTful web services.
  • Proficiency in coding languages including but not limited to:

    • JavaScript (including frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue)
    • HTML5 & CSS3 (including preprocessors like SASS/LESS)
    • PHP (for backend development, especially if working with CMS platforms like WordPress or Drupal)
    • Python (for scripting and backend tasks
    • SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Experience with web frameworks such as Django, Node.js, or Laravel
  • Knowledge of cloud services and hosting platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on ATO-compliant solutions
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles, 508 compliance, and security best practices
  • Proven experience in website security and data privacy regulations, with an understanding of ATO processes and requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
