Senior Game Designer (Remote)

Our client is looking to fill the role of a Senior Game Designer, who will be a critical addition to their growing game development team.

The ideal candidate will help the team stay ahead by conceptualizing and designing game elements faster than development and art teams can execute them, while bringing creativity and unique experience to the table.

Responsibilities

• Game Concept and Design:Generate new game concepts, mechanics, stories, and characters.
• Develop the game world, including locations, atmosphere, and narrative.
• Write the foundational game design documentation (GDD).
• Gameplay:Design engaging and diverse game levels.
• Balance the game’s difficulty, economy, and other parameters for smooth gameplay.
• Improve and implement new game mechanics.
• Continuously test and iterate the game based on results and feedback.
• Analyze game data using analytic tools to assess the effectiveness of game mechanics and make data-driven decisions.
• Team Collaboration:Effectively communicate with other team members, including developers, artists, and sound designers.
• Present ideas clearly and convincingly to the team.
• Collect feedback from players and other specialists for further improvements.
• Additional Responsibilities:Develop new content, events, and updates to keep players engaged.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to create intuitive interfaces and quality user experiences.
• Support game localization for different languages and cultures.

Qualifications

Hard Skills (Technical Skills):

• Game Design Expertise:Strong understanding of game theory, mechanics, and balance.
• Experience with game design documentation (GDD).
• Knowledge of game economy and balancing processes.
• Deep understanding of the game development process.
• Tools and Software:Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator for creating concepts and assets.
• Experience with Blender or Maya for creating game objects.
• UI/UX Knowledge:Ability to design intuitive interfaces and provide a quality user experience.
• Familiarity with designing for various devices and platforms.
• Analytical Skills:Expertise in analyzing game data and utilizing analytics tools to improve gameplay.
• Language Proficiency:Russian language proficiency is desirable

• Creativity and Analytical Thinking:Ability to generate new game mechanics and balance them while analyzing user experience to improve the product.

Must Have

• Portfolio:A collection of completed projects showcasing your skills in designing game systems, levels, and mechanics.
• Experience:Previous experience in game development for iOS/Android.
• Proficiency in Unity.
• Genre Familiarity:Deep familiarity with idle, idle RPG, tower defense, and rogue-like genres.
• Understanding of Game Psychology:Knowledge of player motivations and behavioral models to create engaging experiences.
