Senior Graphic Designer (Remote)

A valued design team member, this Senior Graphic Designer position is primarily responsible for the UI design of our insurtech applications that our life insurance agents use. Supplementally, this role is also responsible creative marketing assets, process advancement and support to design team.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio showcasing their user-centric approach to design, cross-platform proficiency, and keen problem-solving skills. They should also exhibit a command of visual design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout.

Candidates must be eager to stay updated on industry trends and best practices while being conscientious of how that affects local standards and systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively articulate and justify decisions effectively. Candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into that consider the users in mind while maintaining consistency with the existing design system.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for UI/UX work:
  • Understand user requirements in collaboration with engineers, product and business owners
  • Understands the value of data-backed decisions, proactively seeks data and incorporates learning into designs with user goals in mind
  • Create and maintain components for our design system in Figma
  • Identify, research and resolve design discrepancies across our suite of applications
  • Create wireframes and hi-fidelity interactive mockups and prototypes
  • Prepare and present work to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Strong grasp of responsive, cross-platform UI design
• Comfortable receiving and giving constructive criticism
• Be a champion for creation and maintenance of processes that solve problems for local and cross-functional teams
• Communicate in a clear, coherent and professional manner
• Responsible ownership of projects and individual tasks:
  • Deep understanding each project’s goals, requirements, budget, risks and benefits
  • Communicating needs, insight, research, concerns throughout the project
  • Awareness of bandwidth allocation needs, how it relates to ROI and implements into time management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhere to agile timelines and phased design approach
  • Proactively keep work queue moving, identifying and solving for road blocks
  • Adhere to RACI methodology of project management, understanding whom should be Consulted and/or Informed

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in graphic design plus at least six years of client-driven graphic design experience (not including college).
• Strong working knowledge in the following programs:
  • Figma

  • Adobe Creative Suit

  • Atlassian software is a plus
