This is primarily a remote position, but the selected candidate must reside in the general Rhode Island area. The position requires attending frequent meetings at worksite locations in Rhode Island.
Position Summary
As a critical member of the analytical team, the Senior Healthcare Data Analyst will primarily coordinate data reporting and analysis, including summarizing, documenting, validating, and creating charts for high risk / high-cost individuals with medical and behavioral health complexity served in our Accountable Entity (AE). The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst will work to drive standardized and efficient workflows that optimize Electronic Health Record applications across the eight participating provider organizations. Other duties include investigating and providing issue resolution across the organization by delivering excellent customer service to both internal and external contacts, as well as resolving issues related to the roll out of key initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Design tailored and ad hoc reports for the IHP Administrative team and participating provider organizations.
- Analyze program data, prepare reports that include recommendations to improve clinical operations and quality programs.
- Summarize findings to key stakeholders including the executive team, work with care teams across IHP and our partners.
- Use data to assist in the identification of high and rising risk members to inform the development of care management initiatives to improve health quality outcomes while reducing total cost of care.
- Use data to support the development of an IHP-wide risk stratification program, support improvements in case and care management programs and identify analytics to quantify improvements in these programs.
- Perform custom analysis of disparate healthcare and information systems data, interpret results, and make recommendations about data collection methods, metrics definitions and evaluation methods to pertinent decision makers, based on analytic findings.
Experience And Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 to 7 plus years of experience in Health IT, Data Analysis & Reporting, or a related area.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products.
- Required experience with SQL, business intelligence software, Electronic Health Record software.
- Experience working with state level Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals (BHDDH) data requirements preferred but not required.
- Experience in understanding mental health and substance use claims files and utilization.

- Strong analytical and computation skills with experience managing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and presenting results in a clear and concise manner.
- Highly motivated and organized, with keen attention to detail and superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to articulate technical and non-technical ideas to stakeholders with varying levels of technical competence.
- Ability to work creatively and efficiently manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Effort & Environment
Position requires extensive computer use; thus, manual dexterity is required. Must be able to sit for duration of shift.
Confidentiality Of Information
Access to confidential information through patient charts, financial information, and appropriate HR information of multiple organizations.
Annual Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000
