CKG has been exclusively instructed by a leading ASX-listed experience/entertainment company, one of Australia’s largest employers and most recognisable brands, to identify a senior (6+ PQE) generalist commercial lawyer to join their high-performing Sydney based legal function.

Reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with a decentralised legal function, your responsibilities will include:

• Advising on a broad variety of commercial, corporate, and regulatory legal matters.
• Providing operational legal advice and support across the business.
• Supervising junior team members (2 direct reports).
• Advising on whistleblower protection obligations and privacy law.
• Advising on a range of trade promotional and marketing materials.
• Reviewing and amending a broad variety of commercial agreements.
• Championing ethical practices and compliance.
• Liaising with and managing external counsel and regulatory bodies.

Our client’s requirements include:

• A law degree and admission to practise in Australia with an unrestricted practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
• 6+ years PQE of relevant experience (law firm and/or in-house).
• Strong commercial drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Experience working across general commercial matters, including commercial contracts, consumer law, IP/IT, marketing, CapX, privacy, and/or corporate law.
• Experience advising or working with clients operating in highly regulated industries.
• Experience mentoring/supervising junior lawyers will be viewed favourably however is not mandatory. 
• Ability to juggle competing priorities and a variety of stakeholders.
