Role Snap Shot

We require a Senior Licensed Surveyor to join our team! Here at Taylors, we have one of the largest teams of Licensed Surveyors in Victoria.

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Licensed Surveyor who will be responsible for the successful project delivery of a variety of high-profile projects ranging from in fill / urban renewal projects of all sizes, through to large scale multi-staged residential and industrial subdivisions, mixed use high-rise building subdivisions and cadastral work on “Big Build” infrastructure projects for state government, and general infrastructure projects for local government and major service authorities etc.

This position will primarily be office based (work from home) however there will be some field work.  You will be provided with administrative support in the preparation of fee proposals, invoicing and documentation associated with the subdivision process.

How You Will Contribute 

  • Supervise field staff and perform field duties for a variety of projects, including: –
  • Cadastral surveys (on a variety of projects including Big Build transport projects for road and rail)
  • Feature and level surveys to support urban development projects of all sizes
  • Due diligence surveys
  • Control establishment;
  • Complex Land and building subdivisions;
  • Setout surveys;
  • Lease mapping surveys;
  • Boundary marking and compliance with legislative requirements for cadastral surveys
  • Ensure all team members are 100% compliant with all internal safety policies and procedures regarding safe work practices onsite and correct use and care of vehicles and surveying equipment
  • Provide accurate and timely fee proposals within TDS guidelines upon consideration of all project outcomes;
  • Provide specialist consulting and advise clients of accurate timeframes for completion of project milestones and anticipate submission requirements;
  • Prepare documentation relevant to the permit application and plan certification process;
  • Supervise computations / data reduction and ensure accuracy;
  • Supervise and mentor the decision-making process by others
  • Manage productivity and control costs

  • Due diligence and expert reports
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Licensed Surveyor on the Victorian register
  • Sound understanding of cadastral surveying principles and the subdivision process
  • Knowledge of various survey technologies including robotic total stations, GPS, terrestrial laser scanning and mobile laser scanning etc
  • Though knowledge of surveying legislation and industry best practice
  • Proven ability to supervise and mentor young surveyors
  • Strong time management skills and proven ability to delegate tasks effectively
