Maroochydore head office location
Full-time, excellent Salary package & benefits on offer
Impressive new offices
Join a diverse team of dedicated people at Country to Coast, QLD (CCQ) and be a part of an exciting new future. With a bold vision to improve health outcomes from Country to Coast, CCQ seeks visionary change makers to join the leadership team.
CCQ delivers the primary health network (PHN) program for Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Health. CCQ has an ambitious agenda to design and deliver better primary health outcomes for the people in their region. Achieving this will require CCQ as a commissioning organisation to not only focus on primary health service provision but also on the environmental, social and cultural determinants of health which support communities to live their best lives.
CCQ’s diverse region covers 161,108 km2 from Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton and west to Emerald. The population in the region is just under 1M people with around 68% living regionally or remotely and more than 28% living in the most disadvantaged quintile. CCQ collaborates with the community to provide exceptional primary healthcare services to reduce health inequalities for the region. CCQ has seven key priorities for health improvement: mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, health workforce, digital health and older person’s health.
Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal leadership role, you will provide strategic and operational management for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health programs across the Country to Coast footprint from Rockhampton and Emerald down to the Sunshine Coast. By fostering meaningful relationships with stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisations, you will champion culturally safe and integrated care. Your work will involve being part of a team that implements and evaluates programs that address local community needs while aligning with organisational priorities and goals.
Collaboration is central to the role, requiring close engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of health initiatives. You will also advocate for reconciliation and cultural safety, driving initiatives that improve healthcare equity and outcomes. Representing CCQ at regional forums, advisory committees, and interdisciplinary networks, you will act as a key figure in promoting the organisation’s mission and building professional partnerships.
What You’ll Bring
To excel in this role, you will need substantial experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, coupled with a deep understanding of their unique health and wellbeing needs. Your ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, will be essential in engaging stakeholders and fostering collaboration.
You will bring proven leadership skills, with experience managing teams and driving strategic initiatives to successful outcomes. Your problem-solving and analytical capabilities will enable you to design and implement innovative solutions for complex healthcare challenges. Additionally, your comprehensive knowledge of Australia’s primary healthcare system will equip you to navigate and address the complexities of culturally safe service delivery.
Above all, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to cultural safety, reconciliation, and continuous improvement, ensuring that your work aligns with the values and priorities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
What is offered:
- An attractive remuneration package, including salary sacrifice packaging.
- You can also use a portion of your pre-tax income to pay for entertainment expenses such as meals and holidays.
- 5 weeks of annual leave, paid parental leave and leave purchasing scheme.
- Flexible work options, including work from home opportunities up to two days per week.
- Access to an employee assistance program – a free and confidential counselling service available to you as well as training & development opportunities.
