GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this position is to build strong relationships with the independent optometry practices and their target audience. The Content Manager plans, researches, creates, executes, and analyzes content with the aim of attracting and engaging patients. This is done with a clear understanding of the Practice’s goals, messaging, and values. To ensure efficacy of content, the Content Manager conducts market research, develops content calendars and analyzes content performance.
Strong candidates should possess a growth mindset that fosters a culture of continuous learning and development. The person in this role should be prepared to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. Reporting to the Chief Merchandising Officer and under the guidance of the optometrist or location manager, assist with activities including but not limited to the following:
- Build strong relationships with the Independent of Optometry Practices and their target audience
- Maintain and enhance the brand positioning of the Independent Optometry Practices, ensuring consistency across all platforms and communications.
- Research and write engaging, accurate, and valuable content for specific audiences.
- Develop effective targeting, messaging and positioning, and communicate that messaging and positioning to all internal and external audiences
- Produce a broad range of content types; social media posts, video scripts, and long-form articles, emails, downloadable content with solid understanding of the mediums they are writing for, including the formats and the audience
- Ensure digital content is optimized for search engines to increase visibility and drive organic traffic
- Monitor and analyze content performance providing insights and suggestions to refine content strategies for better performance and engagement.
- Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to improve organic visibility and drive targeted traffic to the website
- Manage the Keplr Vision and Practice website, blog, and social media platforms
- Manage relationships with outside related vendors (PR, Web Development, Digital), including monitoring quality and effectiveness
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience and:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Content Manager or similar role
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Strong understanding of SEO and content optimization techniques
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
