We have been asked to assist with recruiting a Senior Network Engineer.
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for completing client projects which may vary across all aspects of technology. These responsibilities encompass various aspects of network design, implementation, maintenance, security, support, documentation, and project management. The Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure.
This is a permanent & senior role within the business, you will have the opportunity to work Hybrid & have major influence on high profile networking projects rather than BAU support.
Position-specific tasks or responsibilities:
- Designing and architecting network solutions to meet client requirements.
- Planning and implementing network infrastructure upgrades and expansions
- Configuring and optimizing network protocols, such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS
- Installing and configuring network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Implementing and maintaining network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their networking needs and translating them into actionable plans.
- Leading and managing network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients for network-related issue
- Point of escalation for L3 Network related tasks via the Service Desk, Engineering and NSSR
- Assisting in scoping projects /reviewing
Desired Skills and Experience
- 5 + years’ experience as a Network Engineer – with a strong background and deep experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure
- Proven experience in designing scalable and reliable network architectures that meet client requirements and industry best practices.
- CCNA OR CCNP (Not a deal breaker but highly desirable)
- Exposure / experience in Azure environments (Cloud)
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and RIP.
- Expertise in working with a wide range of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points. Familiarity with various network technologies, protocols, and standards.
- Firewall experience: Fortigate, Meraki, Sophos
- Team player with the ability to actively listen, process feedback, reflect, learn and help others learn.
