About the opportunity:
If you’re ready to take the next step in your career developing innovative Battlespace Communications Systems solutions, the Land C4 (Command, Control, Communications & Computers) Sovereign Capability team are seeking a talented Senior Network Software Engineer experienced in Layer 2/3 Networking protocols to work on next generation scalable Software-defined Networking products. The successful engineer will have the opportunity to extend, design and develop core features that manage and control the data plane of deployed communication networks.
Responsibilities of the role include the following:
- Develop and maintain Software and Networking components within an Agile, Systems Engineering-based environment
- Product improvement through innovation
- Develop low-level requirements, design and verification procedures
- Document Product design and function and lead Product demonstration
- Improve system performance through analysis, review & defect fixing
Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in software engineering
- Experience development in IP network protocols and paradigms (SDNs)
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification
- Proven development skills within the following areas:
- Object-oriented Development (Java/C#)
- RESTful application development
- Networking protocols (e.g. ICMP, RIP, PIM)
- IPv4/IPv6 unicast/multicast routing, VLANs, VXLANs
- Secure network & encryption standards (SSL/TLS, AES/SHA)
- Some experience in frontend or backend web development (e.g. React, C#.NET)
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Applicants that retain expertise or certifications in Cyber Security (or the ability to develop) is considered highly desirable.
