Are you a detail-oriented and experienced payroll professional seeking a leadership role? Are you looking to start a role in the new year! Our client is looking for an exceptional Senior Payroll Officer to oversee and optimise the payroll operations in the head office based in Mulgrave.
As the Senior Payroll Officer, you will deliver accurate advice and timely services while ensuring compliance with all payroll-related legislation and standards. You will lead payroll operations, provide strategic reports to senior management, and support our commitment to safety, wellbeing, and outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration: Process payroll, including monthly, weekly, and EOFY requirements.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, prepare payroll journals, and provide detailed reports on turnover, leave, wages, workcover and terminations
- Leadership: Guide and mentor the Payroll Officer to deliver efficient payroll services.
- End-of-Month/EOFY Duties: Manage PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and EOFY reconciliations.
- Customer Service: Respond to payroll queries with accuracy and professionalism.
To be succesful in the role:
- Qualifications: Certificate in bookkeeping, accounting, or business administration (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Proficiency with payroll systems – IChris highly advanatageus
- Skills: Strong award interpretation, leave management, and communication with varied stakeholders.
- Attributes: A proactive, safety-first mindset, accountability, and a commitment to excellence.
