About the Product

The product is a specialized software system supporting the education and welfare of children in care. It offers features such as real-time attendance tracking, personal education plan management, and secure data sharing among social workers, teachers, and local authorities. With an emphasis on data security, compliance, and role-based access, the platform is trusted by over 100 local authorities. Future developments include mobile app accessibility, AI-driven insights, and automated support features.

Please note, that this role is freelance-based. We are looking for an engineer, who will join us hourly based. We will have approximately 8-hour workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve and modernize an established system to ensure high performance and scalability.
• Analyze the existing system architecture and identify areas for enhancement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and maintainable solutions.
• Implement best practices for development, testing, and deployment.
• Utilize modern technologies and tools to optimize system performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in PHP 8 and JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.js.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and experience converting designs into responsive, user-friendly code.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS) and cloud best practices.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of database design and optimization (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Jest).
• Excellent analytical skills to diagnose and resolve system issues effectively.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to lead initiatives and drive solutions.
• Strong communication skills with a minimum English proficiency of B2 to collaborate effectively in a global team.
