As a Senior Platform Engineer in the Civica Platform team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining Civica’s cloud-based platforms. This includes overseeing our externally facing platform, which supports engineering teams in delivering exceptional customer-centric outcomes. You’ll also contribute to the development of our internal developer platform, an exciting project that is being built from the ground up.
Joining a newly formed team, you’ll take ownership of platform capabilities, ensuring best practices are implemented across the business. You’ll collaborate with other business units and influence company-wide architecture, while mentoring your peers and actively working to modernise older tech stacks and platforms. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making an impact, helping others succeed, and driving positive change across the organisation.
Requirements
What you will do to be successful in this role
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure with Terraform
- Deploy platform services using Terraform
- Develop and deploy new features for Kubernetes clusters on Azure and AWS
- Apply expertise in TCP/IP networking
- Secure CI/CD pipelines with GitHub
- Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Linux, and automation
- Implement best practices for monitoring, networking, and security
- Design cutting-edge Developer Experience and Cloud SaaS platforms
- Experience with Windows Administration, migrating VM-based architectures to cloud-native and at least one DevOps-friendly programming language such as Python or Go will be highly desirable
