Senior Product Manager | Swooped | United States

About Our Client

For our client, Product is considered the heart of operations, and the Product Team is key to driving innovation. The team is home to experienced professionals, including one of the cofounders and a founding team member, and is expanding for the first time with a high-impact, high-growth role.

A dedicated, self-driven, and transformative individual is sought to help incorporate modern technology for users of all levels of sophistication in education transportation through an innovative suite of mobile and web applications. As a Product Manager, this role is critical, acting as the bridge between customer insights and the engineering team, ensuring alignment with mission and values.

About The Role

– As the second full-time Product Manager on the team, this individual will connect various departments within the organization, including sales, engineering, product, design, and strategy.

– The product speaks for itself, and the Product Manager plays a key role in narrating the story of this innovative offering.

– Every decision made within the company will be driven by data implications regarding the product; this includes tracking product engagement and performance metrics to keep all stakeholders excited about the journey it represents.

– Opportunities for customer engagement such as focus groups, Design Partner conversations, and Early Access programs will be articulated and implemented.

– This position will also involve mentoring the Engineering team, providing guidance when needed, which may include coding proofs of concept for new ideas and designing use cases for testing.

Your Day-To-Day

– Own specific areas of the product: collaboratively define roadmaps with Product team peers while serving as the institutional knowledge on the “why” related to product features and decisions.

– Expand the product suite into new customer segments by designing and implementing onboarding and performance-related product features.

– Lead and engage in monthly agile ceremonies, promoting clear communication, decision-making, and collaboration within the self-organizing engineering and design teams.

– Ensure successful product launches, managing timelines, quality, and stakeholder alignment while tracking post-launch performance, gathering user feedback, and driving iterative improvements to meet organizational goals.

– Focus on the entire product experience, understanding how each user derives value from the offerings.

– Meet with customers and work closely with customer success efforts to identify and support collaboration opportunities for research and testing. Travel to customer sites nationwide may be required to collect insights, build relationships, and ensure the product meets their needs and expectations.

– Provide the sales team with knowledge on new features and occasionally join prospect calls for research and roadmap alignment purposes.

About You

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

– 3 – 4 years of experience in product management or a related field, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment.

– Proven experience in establishing and refining product development processes to enhance efficiency and deliver successful outcomes.

– Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

– Solid experience working with web and/or mobile tech stacks or familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

– Outstanding critical listening skills with the capability to synthesize communications from others clearly.

– A down-to-earth approach, a deep passion for education, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

– Alignment with the organization’s core values.
