You’ll be working closely with business sponsors, product owners, and technology leaders to deliver high-stakes projects that often have tight timelines, shifting requirements, and organization-wide visibility. This role will also require a proactive approach to managing team alignment and building readiness across functional areas, especially as part of the organization’s ongoing transformation.
Key Responsibilities:

- Drive efficiency initiatives, including process improvement and headcount optimization, through careful project planning and strategic alignment.
- Serve as the main point of contact for project goals, timelines, and deliverables, straddling two agile teams to oversee timely project completion (e.g., client self-service platform upgrades and system consolidation).
- Implement established project management best practices with flexibility to adapt to rapid changes in project needs and organizational priorities.
- Surface critical data insights and metrics that support decision-making, facilitating transparency and consumable updates for stakeholders.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans; critical thinking skills are essential to simplify complexity and ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities across workstreams.
- Leadership and Team Dynamics
- Cultivate team effectiveness, particularly by helping teams align to project goals, handling misalignment swiftly, and reinforcing productive collaboration.
- Exhibit situational leadership, promoting behaviors that support organizational goals and agile project management principles.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams through periods of change, maintaining a neutral, resilient, and change-champion mindset.
- Be proactive in creating a supportive yet accountable environment, setting clear expectations, and reinforcing positive behaviors.
- Facilitate a readiness mindset within teams, especially during sunsetting of legacy systems, helping employees adapt and supporting transitions with empathy but assertiveness.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with stakeholders, clients, and other involved parties, offering transparent updates on project progress and risks.
- Leverage strong communication skills to navigate politically sensitive environments, staying neutral and composed while managing competing interests.
- Conduct readiness meetings to drive focus on cross-functional impacts, asking insightful questions that uncover risks and encourage strategic problem-solving.
- Be prepared to take charge on large stakeholder calls (up to 96 participants), ensuring active participation from necessary voices and creating a productive meeting environment.
- Change Management and Organizational Readiness
- Lead initiatives with a focus on organizational readiness, ensuring that project teams and stakeholders are prepared for changes in technology, workflows, and other significant adjustments.
- Act as a transformation advocate, encouraging teams to think forward and adopt a proactive approach in planning and execution.
- Manage organizational resistance effectively, particularly during the integration of new systems and the decommissioning of outdated ones.
- Drive Return on Investment (ROI) metrics where possible to support organizational objectives, positioning the PM role as an integral part of achieving business value through effective project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, ideally within financial services, technology, or a highly regulated industry.
- Proven experience with agile methodologies and tools, with a capacity to adapt based on project requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency in project management tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead initiatives through collaboration and influence.
