About the Company:
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing projects within set deadlines and budgets. This includes sourcing resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and external contractors or consultants to ensure successful project delivery. The Project Manager will define project objectives and maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle, with a primary focus on safety.
About the Role:
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and completing projects within set deadlines and budgets. This includes sourcing resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and external contractors or consultants to ensure successful project delivery. The Project Manager will define project objectives and maintain quality control throughout the project lifecycle, with a primary focus on safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project profit and loss (P&L) effectively.
- Lead project execution to ensure alignment with budget through strong leadership, organizational planning, customer engagement, and efficient field operations consistent with company policies.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
- Oversee contract administration and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Track and report on project milestones and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and communication documents.
- Clearly communicate project expectations to contractors in a timely manner.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members.
- Identify and resolve project-related issues and conflicts.
- Recommend adjustments to budget and schedule as necessary.
- Review contractors’ progress reports and testing records.
- Manage project dependencies and critical paths, planning and scheduling timelines using appropriate tools.
- Create and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations.
- Proactively manage scope changes, identify potential crises, and create contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members and contractors to foster accountability for their work.
- Collaborate with utility providers to establish project interconnection requirements and processes.
- Liaise with contractors and local authorities to secure necessary licenses and permits.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met across projects.
- Oversee quality assurance and control to align with corporate safety goals.
Additional Duties:
- Identify and evaluate potential contractors.
- Maintain tracking tools for project management.
- Distribute relevant construction data and documentation.
- Develop checklists and inspection report templates.
- Write and monitor compliance with procedures and applicable regulations.
- Attend meetings with various departments, including Business Development and Technical Offices.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in Engineering or a related field.
Required Skills:
– At least 5 years of experience in Solar Construction, with an electrical background (e.g., substations/interconnection).
– Strong oral and written communication skills.
– Self-motivated with exceptional leadership and organizational abilities.
– Team-oriented with strong troubleshooting and human resource skills.
– Extensive experience in project management and subcontractor oversight.
– Proficient computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
– Ability to interpret technical drawings.
