Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Roadway Engineer/Project Manager to join our esteemed Transportation team. In this pivotal role, you will engage in close collaboration with fellow engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel to spearhead the development and execution of impactful highway engineering initiatives. This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking work environment and play a critical role in the evolution of transportation services in Indiana.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute roadway design and prepare comprehensive plans for highway projects.
  • Assume leadership in project management, overseeing assigned tasks and effectively communicating progress to transportation management.
  • Manage project timelines, report on progress, and ensure seamless coordination among team members.
  • Develop project proposals and cost estimates to support our bidding process.
  • Prepare final project documentation, including detailed plans and quantity take-offs.
  • Collaborate strategically with team leaders to enhance our competitive positioning in the market.

Required Skills

  • Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA, and INDOT standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation OpenRoads is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Experience with Alternative Delivery Projects is an advantage.
  • Strong capability to adhere to directives and function effectively within a team setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and sharing insights with colleagues.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in the professional design and preparation of plans for interstate and local road/street projects.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred or should be acquired within six months of employment.
