Key Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the development of structural designs for transit infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met, regulations are adhered to, and safety standards are exceeded.
- Conduct thorough site assessments and collect valuable data for rehabilitation, expansion, and repair initiatives.
- Provide technical oversight to ensure the integrity of technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports throughout project phases.
- Manage staffing budgets, schedules, and forecasting reports while monitoring project quality and progress.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or a related field) with a minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) credentials, with the capability to secure additional licenses as necessary.
- Proficient in MS Office, industry-standard structural design and analysis software, and building information modeling (BIM) tools, such as Revit. Familiarity with CAD tools like AutoCAD or MicroStation is also required.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing projects and engaging with clients.
- Strong competency in developing structural drawings and documentation, performing quality assurance checks, and applying design codes such as ACI, ASCE, AISC, ASTM, and International Building Codes.
Qualifications
- An advanced degree, such as a Master’s in Structural Engineering, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in conducting complex analyses with 2D and 3D structural design calculations. Proficiency in finite element analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) is advantageous.
