Mission

A Senior Software Development Engineer (Sr SDE) at Andros is responsible for delivering valuable software-based products and engineering solutions according to best practices and well-architected systems design. Additionally, one is expected to demonstrate ownership of development projects, which includes technical direction, software design choices, and contribution to underlying code, as well as mentoring more junior developers.. Quality communication skills are also a priority.

Outcomes

• Delivery of stable software according to roadmap and business priorities that satisfies product requirements, architectural specifications, and best practices, including:

• Full-stack support of Ruby on Rails applications
• Enhancements to internal and external APIs
• Data store schema design and implementation
• Well-architected systems design

• Contribution to the design, specifications, and estimation of engineering initiatives in concert with other Engineering teams and Product
• Clear communication of important project information in Jira tickets, such as clarifying questions, progress,, and feedback to stakeholders

Desired Qualifications

• Expertise developing applications with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL or other (O)RDBMS, including advanced SQL skills
• Experience with cloud services, AWS preferred
• Experience with containerization and Docker
• Outstanding coding skills, knowledge of patterns and best practices with a focus on Ruby on Rails
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills
• Front-end development experience a plus
• Experience with Elasticsearch a plus
• Experience working at a start-up and/or in health tech a plus

Salary Range

$135,000-$155,000
