PURPOSE
Responsible for aligning technology solutions with business strategies, consulting with business/project owners to define business processes, develop technology concepts, and implement to user satisfaction.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
The following statements describe the general nature of work performed by people assigned to this job, may not be performed by all individuals in this job, and are not a complete list of all job duties required.
- Facilitates delivery of new products and/or technology solutions. Responsible for working with business owners and assessing requests for product enhancements, potential new products, and/or technologies based on requirements.
- Acts as liaison with internal developers and analysts. Works with other co-workers in various units to ensure successful completion and rollout of product and/or service.
- Identifies analysis tasks associated with project, including but not limited to, elicitation, business process analyses, needs assessments, cost/benefit measurements, estimated hours, business priorities, stakeholder identification, etc., ensuring products and/or technologies are aligned with business needs, and achieved per project schedule.
- Responsible for project facilitation and securing completed work products from development partners (internal and external). Coordinates rollout of product, communication thereof, and remain apprised of user issues and potential problems voiding or resolving conflict.
- Facilitates delivery of new products, technology solutions and releases, providing off hours (24×7) support as necessary.
- Executes requirements definition, analysis models, technical documentation, business documentation; facilitating end user communication and understanding of project requirements.
- Communicates using both formal and informal methods across cross functional team throughout the project management process. Responsible for aligning communication deliverables and methods to each sequence.
- Researches and provides information on technical trends, competitors’ practices and technical implementations relevant to industry.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of MGIC business units and the interrelationships thereof
- Knowledge of MGIC’s business, products, technologies, business practices and direction
- Understanding of concept and phases of SDLC; able to complete assigned project tasks per each corresponding SDLC phase
- Understanding of project management principles and lifecycle
- Understanding of how IT affects MGIC’s business processes
- Understanding of IT infrastructure
Experience:
- 5 years advanced work in area of specialization
- Prior experience with Salesforce
- Requires limited oversight to perform tasks
- Requires general direction, can define necessary tasks to achieve outcomes
- Perform multiple tasks of moderate and high complexity
- Multi-task and achieve multiple deliverables
- Achieve goals, understands realization
- Independently define necessary tasks to achieve outcomes
- Facilitates planning
- Performs analysis for large projects in combination with management of ongoing iterative changes

- Regularly performs peer reviews and coaches others in area of expertise; acts as a leader
- Coordinates analysis and project activities
- Performs cost/benefit analysis
Required Skills:
- Technical writing
- Ability to express technical concepts in terms that are business understandable
- Project management skills, experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from the envisioning stage through to implementation
- Ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed
- Agility in elicitation and communication methods
NOTE: While the minimum education and experience for each level may have been achieved, promotion is subject to manager recommendation and IS Management Team approval. Salary grade levels are determined based on knowledge, complexity of responsibilities, level of support provided and other factors including, but not limited to:
- Scope of responsibility
- Independence and level of decisions made
- Number of business functions covered
- Complexity of system or system interfaces and the analysis required
- Business impact and criticality
- Technical skills used
- Level of assistance required and/or provided.
