Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient individual to join our team in a critical role focused on Incident and Problem Management and will be part of the PCW Pharmacy Technology Operations team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex IT incidents, as well as managing long-term problem resolution strategies. The candidate must have a strong technical background with the ability to implement industry-leading practices and methodologies to ensure operational efficiency and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Incident Management: Efficiently manage high-priority incidents, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure rapid resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
Problem Management: Proactively analyze recurring incidents, identify root causes, and lead the investigation and resolution of underlying problems. Develop and implement strategies to prevent future incidents, improving system stability and performance.
Best Practices Development: Design, document, and implement best practices for both incident and problem management processes. Ensure adherence to ITIL or other relevant frameworks, optimizing workflows and streamlining incident response times.
Decision-Making: Take ownership of critical decisions in high-pressure situations. Assess the technical and business impact of incidents and problems, making data-driven choices to mitigate risk and prioritize actions.
Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, IT support, and business teams to ensure timely problem resolution and the continuous improvement of incident management processes. Mentor and guide junior team members in best practices and technical skills.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in an SRE or Operations role
- 8+ years of experience managing or developing software in languages such as java.
- 5+ years of experience managing cloud deployed services on platforms such as AKS & GCP as well as monolith systems
- 5+ years of experience with working on observability tools like AppDynamics, SiteScope, Splunk, Grafana, ELK
- 5+ years of experience with working knowledge of SQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of IT Service Management best practices such as change management and problem management
- General understanding of network concepts and principles
- General understanding of middleware technologies like Weblogic, OHS, MQ, Apache, TomCat etc.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 – $203,940.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
