About The Role

We’re looking for driven Senior Software Engineers with proficiency in architecting, developing and scaling backend systems to join our team. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is also highly valued, as we are a fast-moving startup. You will be owning and leading product initiatives from start to finish, ensuring delivering value to our users while mentoring other engineers on the project. If you have a track record of solving ambiguous system problems and turning them into opportunities for growth, then you’re the perfect fit!

Our tech stack (but we’re open to adopting other technologies when needed):

• Frontend: TypeScript, React, GraphQL
• Backend: Node.js with TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS services (Lambda, RDS, Fargate, SNS, SQS, etc…)

What You’ll Do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust backend systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies
• Own ambiguous projects at every stage of their lifecycle to deliver high-quality, impactful products to users.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and promote a culture of innovation and excellence
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity or process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity

Qualifications

We’re looking for a T-Shaped senior software engineer with a focus on backend with a solid technical and professional background and a product mindset. You’ll be a great match if you have:

• 5+ years of experience as a senior software engineer
• Ownership mindset for your projects end-to-end and bias towards impact
• Strong Problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Analytical approach to system architecture and design
• Strong understanding of database design and development
• Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS
• Basic knowledge of web technologies and frontend development in React

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Puppeteer or similar tools for web scraping
• Experience working with DOM and other Web APIs
