Senior Software Engineer Big Peer (Remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and uphold robust and efficient distributed systems.
• Enhance, optimize, and maintain the infrastructure that underpins our peer-to-peer technology, concentrating on scalability in data synchronization.
• Design and oversee high-performance, consistent caches and proxies that connect Big Peers and Small Peers within our ecosystem.
• Guarantee data integrity and system performance through rigorous correctness and load testing.
• Partner with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team to monitor, troubleshoot, and refine distributed systems in live environments.
• Automate processes and tools to simplify infrastructure management and deployment.
• Document technical specifications and contribute to the overarching system architecture.
• Lead initiatives for performance optimization to ensure systems can accommodate the demands of extensive distributed environments.
• Engage in on-call responsibilities alongside the SRE team to oversee production systems and uphold service uptime.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a particular emphasis on distributed systems and proficiency in low-level programming languages such as Rust or modern C/C++.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization solutions (Docker, Kubernetes), and extensive distributed systems.
• In-depth understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance enhancement methodologies.
• Exceptional communication abilities, particularly in asynchronous work settings.
• Capability to excel in a globally dispersed team structure.
