Our client is a private organisation based in Adelaide CBD, and they are currently on the hunt for an experienced Senior Software Engineer/Technical Lead to join them on their journey. They are entering a new, critical phase, with an additional product being built and brought on, to assist with scanning data and detecting personal information to protect it from potential cyber risks and threats.

The Role:

The Senior Software Engineer/ Technical Lead is responsible for providing software development expertise in connection with the in house platform. The position will be required to design and code elements of the system to meet core system enhancements and new project deliverables. This is a dynamic role with an expectation that new core competencies will be learnt as part of the roadmap for development.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Proficient in a range of modern software design patterns including microservice architectures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Java and Spring Boot, as well as significant experience working with one or more of Python, Perl, TypeScript, Angular and NodeJS.
  • Strong familiarity with major cloud vendor architectures, tools and services (with a focus on Microsoft Azure).
  • Experience working with software containerisation and orchestration tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and others.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to explain complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver technical work within agreed timeframes.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to detect complex issues, devise and implement appropriate solutions, whilst maintaining ownership and responsibility for change through to resolution.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over assigned projects and tasks.
  • Able to adapt to a constantly evolving and agile environment.
  • Knowledge of the open source software ecosystem.
  • Proficiency with a range of version control systems, build tools, and CI/CD tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, data modelling, SQL, query optimisation, ORMs and data access frameworks.
  • Ability to rapidly adapt to a range of diverse technologies and platforms.
