We’re looking for a Senior Solution Engineer who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions.
About the Role
The client’s primary product is a SaaS platform designed for Scoping, Planning, and Documentation by Integrity, Reliability, and Safety engineers in asset-heavy industries like Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Renewable Energy. They deliver to large enterprise clients with complex requirements and unique implementation needs. In this dynamic setting, the Solutions Engineer act as business generalists, fluent in both business and technology, to deliver tailored solutions for their customers.
As a Senior Solutions Engineer you bring technical expertise to the Sales team while providing sales insight to technical teams. You play a vital role in connecting the product and engineering teams with the sales force. The main objective is to address customer concerns regarding technical and usability aspects of the IMS (Integrated Management System), ultimately influencing purchase decisions.
In addition to supporting sales, Solution Engineers tackle customer churn by engaging with existing clients who may not be fully leveraging the product or have new use cases that need addressing.
Solution Engineers collaborate closely with three key internal functions: Product, Engineering, and Customer Success. Staying updated on the platform and industry trends is crucial, as these factors can significantly impact strategies for customer acquisition and retention.
What You’ll Do
- Support Account Executives during the sales process by translating customers’ technical priorities and challenges into impactful use cases leveraging the IMS.
- Engage with potential customers during discovery calls.
- Conduct platform demonstrations.
- Understand and dissect complex customer requirements.
- Map our platform’s capabilities to meet customer needs.
- Collaborate with partners and clients to design and implement solutions within the IMS.
- Design and scope proof-of-value projects that showcase the benefits of the IMS in a short timeframe, while outlining the value of full implementation and the strategic roadmap.
- Create reusable materials (e.g., product demos, case studies) and best practices to share knowledge across the Solution Engineering team.
- Work with product management to convert customer insights into product improvements, influencing the IMS product roadmap.
- Lead the development of new use cases on the platform, assess product-solution fit, and provide feedback to the product team while sharing discovery outcomes with go-to-market functions.
Who They’re Looking For
- 7-10 years of experience in Enterprise/“high touch” Solution Engineering as a technical Solution Engineer or Consultant in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Proven experience facilitating proof-of-value workshops, providing consulting services, and delivering training on tools and methodologies.
- Technical expertise in AIM (Asset Integrity Management) software within asset-intensive sectors like Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing or Renewables.
- Domain expertise in asset integrity, especially in Asset Reliability and Asset Safety, is a strong plus.
- Strong communication skills and a good sense of humor, enabling effective collaboration with support, implementation, development teams and clients.
- Ability to identify customer challenges and develop solutions that create mutual benefits.
- Excellent writing and documentation skills to build and maintain technical sales knowledge.
