Senior Splunk Engineer It Service Intelligence (Remote)

Position Overview

The Engineer shall perform monitoring and analytics using the ITSI solution. The Engineer

shall promote visibility into the health of IT services and infrastructure and use ITSI to solve a

variety of IT challenges. These include deriving service-level insights and analysis on system

events, metrics, and logs to find and fix issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Using Splunk ITSI, the Engineer shall aggregate data across the organization with the goal of reducing the complexity of tools

• Using Splunk ITSI, the Engineer shall visually map the key services.

• Organize and correlate system/application/business events cross-functionally and understand their service context to support investigations, root cause analysis, and for the goal of reducing the time for incident resolution.

• Use the machine learning capability to baseline normal behavior, create alerts of anomalous conditions, and support the goal of enabling dynamic adaptation of thresholds in real-time.

• Improve service operations, with the goal of increasing team productivity and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with the Splunk utility. Must be able to perform standard and custom configurations of the utility.

• Experience creating, generating, and modifying default and custom dashboards and reports.

• Experience with Command Line Interface. Experience creating and modifying alerts based on correlation rules and established indicators. Experience ingesting new data sources.

• Experience analyzing Splunk data and interpreting that data for issue identification and improvement or rectification recommendations.

• Experience identifying and interpreting anomalous data and providing recommended actions.

• Experience synthesizing large volumes of data in actionable recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Be a Splunk Core Certified Power User

• Be a Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin

1. Have experience using the Splunk playbook editor.

• 5+ years of Splunk level experience
