About the Opportunity
Are you a passionate communicator looking to make a difference for the small business sector? The office of the South Australian Small Business Commissioner (SASBC) is seeking to invest further in its engagement activities with the small business sector.
We are looking for someone to join our extremely passionate, creative and fast-paced Strategic Relations team within SASBC, where no two days are the same!
The primary purpose of the Senior Stakeholder and Communications Officer is to craft and execute comprehensive strategic communication, engagement, and education activities, including media releases and public relations. The role will increase visibility and engagement with stakeholders and leverage opportunities for awareness campaigns that align with the office’s strategic direction. The role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, the media, and the small business community.

About the Business
The Office of the Small Business Commissioner is an independent statutory office of the South Australian Government within the Attorney-General’s Department. Our office functions are to:
- Facilitate alternative dispute resolution processes between small businesses, and between small businesses and state or local government.
- Advocate on behalf of the small business community, or a section of it, regarding collective issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engage with small businesses to provide information and guidance.
- Regulate by administering and enforcing legislative powers and responsibilities assigned to the Small Business Commissioner.
- Deliver a fair, timely and consistent services to, and on behalf of, South Australian small businesses.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
