DCCM | Southstar Engineering is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Traffic Engineer (Remote)

Seeking a Senior Project Manager / Traffic Engineer for our Southern California office. This position will be a key hire to help grow our Traffic Engineering division.

We specialize in managing the planning, design, and construction of bridges, highways, and roads, as well as overseeing significant multi-million dollar infrastructure projects, consistently providing innovative solutions.

The Senior Project Manager / Traffic Engineer will be involved in a variety of projects, including but not limited to analysis of existing conditions versus future year, traffic surveys, traffic studies and traffic impact studies, feasibility analysis, traffic engineering calculations including capacity and level of service analysis (and Vehicle Miles Traveled), corridor studies, transportation and micro-simulation modeling, final traffic design plans, specifications and cost estimates.

Senior Project Manager / Traffic Engineer Required Qualifications:

• Degree in engineering, planning or related field.
• Civil and/or Traffic PE License in California
• 7 or more years of progressive experience in traffic engineering
• Expertise using engineering software, manuals and methodologies for modern traffic engineering/management
• Demonstrated success in managing projects planned scope, schedule, and budget

Senior Project Manager / Traffic Engineer Desired Qualifications:

• 7 or more years’ experience performing projects like those listed above with minimum 3 years in a project management role
• Proven track record of success in business development
• Experience using SYNCHRO, VISSIM and similar modeling software
• Experience with MicroStation or other CAD software
• Caltrans experience
• Having previous experience in remote work and a dedicated home office setup
