  This role will see you providing engineering and technical support in the delivery of transmission lines projects. You will work with internal stakeholders, and Design and Installation Service Providers to ensure projects are delivered in a cost-efficient way and to high standards of quality.

  With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Design Management, Transmission Delivery team.

   

  This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Provide technical support into Customer and Company initiated projects across AusNet’s Transmission network
  • Apply technical engineering knowledge to ensure efficient solutions can be reached on complex design projects
  • Develop scopes and specifications for design and construction. Review and assess brownfield and greenfield transmission lines designs, providing technical input into staging, constructability, operability, maintainability and safety in design covering:
  • Line design with PLS-CADD
  • Structure design and modelling using PLS-POLE and TOWER
  • Foundation design
  • Provide support to address Requests for Information as required during the project lifecycle
  • Identify opportunities to develop new, and update existing engineering standards
  • Contribute to the development of scopes and estimates for Transmission lines projects ensuring cost effective and constructible business cases can be delivered, including:
  • Supporting the development of project schedules and risk registers
  • Providing engineering input into commercial offers on customer offers
  • Identify opportunities to develop new or improved standards and to ensure the timely delivery of efficient solutions of complex technical engineering designs and standards, taking ownership of process improvement initiatives and development of new methods where necessary
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and Design Service Providers
  • Lead, coach and mentor personnel within the team and share knowledge and experience

   

  You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Significant experience and detailed technical knowledge and extensive experience in electricity networks engineering
  • Design experience within Transmission lines
  • Simplify complex engineering analysis for non-engineers (eg summarising key decision-making during delivery of detailed design)
  • Detailed understanding of project lifecycles and application of engineering principals with extensive design and construction knowledge covering performance, functionality, operation, maintenance and risks
  • Extensive experience working in transmission lines engineering, project delivery and/or design role
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environment that AusNet operates within
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, mentor, empower and support colleagues and team members to achieve common goals
  • Proven project team leadership skills
  • Proven capability in development of concepts and/or delivery of designs
  • Proven ability to build and grow relationships and partnerships across divisions within Ausnet as well as with external suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies
