  • Identify, gather, and review financial information to determine credit grades and appropriate loan structuring.
  • Assess and communicate risks to assist department risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide service and support for both associates and customers, assisting in customer calls and identifying cross-sales opportunities.
  • Offer guidance on escalated or difficult underwriting matters.
  • Lead special projects to facilitate EF lending activities and service capabilities, potentially acting in a leadership role for less experienced underwriters.
  • Analyze and underwrite new and existing lease/loan transactions, with strong financial modeling skills.
  • Interact effectively with Originators and maintain good verbal communication skills.
  • Assist in portfolio management activities for equipment loans and leases with aggregate portfolio exposure.
  • Make recommendations on new credit requests, renewals, and modifications, ensuring quality and soundness of all credit transactions.
  • Capture and document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications to meet client needs while balancing internal risk/return requirements.
  • Exhibit equipment finance knowledge across a wide range of asset classes and obligor types, with solid documentation skills and the ability to lead transactions from start to finish.
  • Provide specialized expertise in commercial and industrial lending, particularly in manufacturing and related sectors.
  • Support complex financial assessments and credit evaluations for loans between $10 million and $150 million.
  • Inform development of financial due diligence requests and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate applicant’s plan of finance and underlying economics, including revenue assumptions, capital expenditures, and operational costs.
  • Assess the reasonableness of project schedules and the ability to withstand cost escalations or revenue downturns.
  • Review contractual structures for equipment development, operation, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development of credit protections and the negotiation of commercial terms.
  • Collaborate with Financial Analysts and Modelers to ensure thorough evaluation of loan applications.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with OSC LPO staff and borrowers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, particularly in equipment leasing.
  • Deep expertise in manufacturing sector economics, equipment financing, and modernization programs.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience in risk assessment and credit analysis for large-scale industrial loans.
  • Proficiency in financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve-month analysis.
  • Completion of a credit training program.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (2016 or later).
  • Ability to travel to Crystal City, Virginia, and other U.S. locations as needed.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement within five business days of award or onboarding.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced team environment, multitasking effectively.
